In order to enable all the new functionality of this beta build it is recommended that users delete and recreate their machines. By using the same Program ID in the new machines, none of the user's data will be lost. To recreate a machine:
Repeat for all applicable machines.
In the past unlicensed machines were deleted from the user’s machine list without prompting. A warning message has been added that allows users to exit the software before their unlicensed machines are removed. Upon encountering this error please contact Sales2006@pcpoll.com to purchase additional licenses or to verify release code information.
Within the Maintenance area of Version Six a drop down menu has been added to all Boolean grid fields to give users the option of selecting TRUE or FALSE.
The text on the Calendar screen has been changed from “Time For Schedules To Start” to “Time For Calendar To Load Schedules” to help avoid user confusion. The “Time For Calendar To Load Schedules” is the time that the calendar section of the program loads the schedules that are to be executed during the next 24 hours. In general, PC/POLL recommends that the loading time be set for at least 30 minutes prior to the execution of the user’s first scheduled poll.
A new export format option has been added to the Version Six package. There is now a “Report Type” export format in addition to the “Poll ID” and “Location” format. The new format contains all the same information as the “Location” format (Store , Machine , ECR Date Polled, and Z Counter) with the addition of a string field displaying the report name.
Example:
PLU,1,1,04/27/2001,6,1,1,0,4
PLU,1,1,04/27/2001,6,2,1,8.54,11.22
PLU,1,1,04/27/2001,6,3,1,4.99,13
The export format on the consolidation export has been changed to include a header and footer statement. The format contains a header line, followed by lines of data exported in the Poll ID format, and finally concluding with a footer line.
Example:
!CONSOLIDATED,PLU,4/28/2001,4/28/2001,1,2,1,11
4,1,200 WINGS,10,599
4,2,150 WINGS,2,91.8
4,3,100 WINGS,2,59.9
4,4,75 WINGS,2,45.9
!ENDCONSOLIDATED
On the Consolidate screen, within the Data area of the program, the Poll Type and Poll Area options have been changed to include an “ALL” option to consolidate all the selections within those sections. An “Area 4” has also been added the Poll Area section for consolidation purposes on TEC registers. Please consult the Help Files for more information on how to consolidate TEC reports.
Within the Data area of Version Six users can now use the Ctrl and Shift keys to select multiple reports and then click on the delete button, at the top of the All POLLS screen, to delete the data.
The descriptors for the Day Shift report are now being read from the Maintenance area.
The “Renumber By PLU” button has been implemented to allow users to reorder their PLU file within the Maintenance area of the software before they send the file to the cash register. In the past some users who added PLUs through the software and sent them to the register experienced descriptor mismatches on their PLU reports.
The report has been modified to appropriately zero skip.
The Function Key program now saves and sends. The maintenance area is still under construction. See the USER NOTE at the top of this message.
The Time Keeping report has been added to Version Six. See the USER NOTE at the top of this message.
The ECR date displayed on the Guest Check report has been replaced with the PC date. In the past the ECR date was displayed incorrectly due to differences within the report header coming from the register.
The total sales amount on the bottom of the report is now calculated based upon the user’s “Add To Group Ttl” setting within the Group maintenance area. Failure to save this program prior to polling the Group report may cause inaccuracies to occur within the total sales amount field.
The software is now checking the registers for correct Terminal Numbers. Please consult the Help Files on “Sharp Programming” on how to set and check the Terminal Number settings at the register. (Version Six is looking for a match between the register Terminal Number and software Machine Number.)
Version Six now enables users to poll both consolidated and individual register reports from within an IRC setup. Before users will have access to this feature they should see the USER NOTE at the top of this message and save the Inline Preset program. (Inline Preset tells the software the number of registers contained within the IRC and their register Machine Numbers.)
The T-Log report is now pollable. Due to the size of the report polling times will dramatically increase. See the USER NOTE at the top of this message.
Users are now able to save, send, and maintain PLU submenus within the PLU Menu area of the program.
The TEC report header area has been modified. In the past the Poll Type area displayed values such as V, X, and R. That is have been changed so that only X and Z are displayed. The Poll Area has also been modified. See explanation below:
Area 1 = Standard X or Z report
Area 2 = Standard GTX or GTZ report
Area 3 = Consolidated/Master Only X or Z report
Area 4 = Consolidated/Master Only GTX or GTZ report
The timing on the 2600 program send has been improved to increase efficiency.
Some users were experiencing problems sending $0.00 priced items. That error has been corrected.
