Previously, all new scripts would only contain one type of report (X or Z). This was determined by the last script in the set. This area is now fixed.
In the past a consolidate would total all X, Z, Area 1, Area 2, and Area 3 reports of a selected type. With the new selection areas users can choose if they want to consolidate just the X, Z, Area 1, Area 2, and/or Area 3 reports. The Don’t Care option combines the consolidation types. For example, if you select Don’t Care in the Poll Type selection area you will be consolidating both X and Z reports.
There was a problem with editing some of the fields the Samsung percent keys area. Now users should be able to save edits to all the fields within this maintenance area.
We have added a configuration section to the program that links users to their Window’s modem setup area. To access it, begin at the main screen of Version 6 and select the setup menu (not the button) and then select Comm Ports. If modifications are made to either the Communications Setup screen or the modem setup screen, click the Accept button in order for the changes to take effect.
There has been a change in the way that PC/POLL saves information back to the computer. We have added block counters to help make our recoveries from Comm Overruns more efficient.
PC/POLL has always highly recommended that users enter a program ID when creating a machine. Now the Program ID is required and users will be prompted to enter one if they leave the field blank. Users should note that if they are not currently using a program ID and they enter and save edits to their machine area they will be required to enter a Program ID. This will create a new machine that is not linked to the currently saved information.
If the EJ is blank or already cleared the software used to return Ffailed and exit the comm area. Now this is displayed in the Communications window:
Saving Program Memory Allocation
PE
Saving Program to Database
Save Completed
Reading Report Electronic Journal
No Data
Then the other scripts and prompted reports are continued.
The error in the Edit ECR area has now been fixed. All edits to the Program IDs should now be posted and saved. Information on this area has also been added to the manual and help files.
These errors are now explained in the Version 6 help file:
Bad Command (Sharp)
Inaccurate (Large) Register Tape Values (CRS)
Sending Programs and Clearing Counters (Sharp)
TAPI Fail
The help file now contains the cabling diagrams, register setup information, and instructions for checking EPROM versions for the CRS, Samsung, and Sharp.
The coupon file on the CRS is now sending and sending correctly. Due to the types of changes made users will have to go into their Version Six Data directory and delete their coupon files in order to view the changes. For example: *.db, *.px, *.xgo, *.ygo
Users should note that they must delete their existing Coupon files before doing a Save All Programs.
The CRS employee file now properly displays the tips and job code values. The mistakes were due to errors in the communications specifications.
Formerly the CRS 3000 Electronic Journal (EJ) report was not being cleared (Zed) out properly. In this version the EJ report is being reset.
We have placed new headers on the CRS and Samsung reports to help PC/POLL better diagnose reporting errors, especially ones relating to IRC problems. Some of the values will not be relevant to the average user, as they are meant to be a tool to help the support staff.

The CRS PLU report now displays the PLU codes instead of the PLU Memory Numbers on the PLU report.
The CRS Sales and Labor and the Time Keeping Z1 reports have been reformatted to better match the register tape receipts.
Some users were having trouble polling large CRS Cashier reports. This in turn could cause other errors to develop. The error was related to a timing issue and that has now been fixed.
The CRS Time Period Group report that PC/POLL generated was not perfectly matching the register tape. This was due to the fact the register returned all values related to group sales even if the group totals were not set to print on the tape. By cross referencing the report with the file maintenance area we were able to generate the report correctly.
PC/POLL is currently working on the Sharp Function Keys in order to make them send and save properly. Because of this, some users may have to delete their *.db and *.px function key files from their Version Six Data directory in order to conduct a Save All Programs.
