The ECR is not sending a ‘Group Number’, so the first group to report sales gets Group 1’s descriptor assigned to it. Go to Maintain ECR Files, pick your machine from ALL MACHINES, go to ‘P-Mode Printing Option’, find the ‘Zero Totals on other than Financial’ and set it to 'Do PRINT’. Press <Ctrl><Enter> to save the option. Then go to Communicate/Send ECR Program, pick your machine from ALL MACHINES, and send the P-Mode Printing Options to your ECR. CAUTION! Any report run at the ECR will now print every item whether or not there are any sales to go with it or not.
Error Code 47 (Range Over) from the ECR usually occurs when sending a program that has more items than the memory allocation in the ECR allows. For example, trying to send 1,200 PLUs when the ECR’s memory can only accommodate 1,000 will cause this error. Changing the memory allocation settings at the ECR to allow for the additional items will be necessary.
Getting Error Code 55 (BAD FUNC) from the ECR is most often caused by attempting to do a Daily report using a Daily period. The Samsung does not support a Daily/Daily report. You can use a Daily/Monthly or a Daily/Periodic instead.
The Samsung Error Code 56 (BUSY) does not mean failure to communicate. Every Z report will set the Consolidation flag but does not reset the data. This prevents a second consolidation, which would overwrite and lose the data. To finish resetting the data, you will need to issue a Reset Data action. This can be done one of two ways. The first is to go to the register and manually clear out the prepoll buffer. (End-users please contact your dealer on how to perform this operation.) The second method is to retake the Z report that caused the error.
The Samsung can do a PLU by Group Report. However, this feature is only available at the register at report time. The reports available for polling do not include the PLU by Group report.
