Maintain
This is the area in Version 6 Polling where the user can edit the information
that has been stored in the register. Because this area differs drastically for
each type of machine and EPROM version (Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory—memory
chip located inside the cash register), detailed descriptions cannot be given at
present for each scenario. However, there are a few general steps to be
followed.
Click on Maintain from the main menu.
From the Machine List window, highlight the machine ID of the register that
contains the programs that need to be edited and press Select.
Next, the Program Selector window will be displayed. This screen contains all
of the areas that can be maintained in Version 6 Polling. Use the scrollbar to
view all of the areas.
Click once on a program to select it. Doing this will display a screen with
various fields that can be changed.
Many Programs have many individual entries listed in a table, such as in the
case with PLU. When PLU is selected from the Program Selector window, the table
is displayed and near the top is a toolbar. Click

table's functions.
Maintenance Buttons
The following buttons appear on some of the Version 6 maintenance screens.
Copy
Highlighting a record and pressing the copy button will create a record
exactly like the first. However, some fields cannot remain the same, such as PLU
Code or Memory Number. If the fields are not changed, the Key Violation error
message appears. Change these fields so they are different and Post the edit.
Print
Clicking the Print button displays a preview of how the data will look when
printed. Press the Print button to print a copy of this information on the
default printer. (Note: When printing PLUs, it may be advantageous to use the
Invt Export button instead. Then, import the text file into Excel and print it
this way. Click here

Detail
Pressing the Detail button will display the information for the highlighted
record in a separate window. Edit the information and press OK to save
changes.
Export
Pressing the Export button will export the data in a comma-delimited format to a
text file. A window appears telling the path and file name of the file.
Import
When Import is clicked, Version 6 will look in the directory C:\Version Six Data\Program Exports
for a file with the same name as the export file. The fields also need
to be in the same order as the Export file. To check the order, Export a

Samsung Doublewide Option
To print doublewide Samsung characters in the logo message, place a ~ in
front of each character that should be doublewide. After saving and
sending this program, the character will appear differently. This is ok,
the information will still function correctly. (Click
