System Requirements

• A PC capable of running a Windows Operating system
• Serial port or modem
• Minimum 256 colors
• Minimum 800 x 600 resolution
• 128 MB of RAM
• 233 MHz processor speed
• Windows printer installed

System Recommendations

• Pentium 3 - 500 MHz or equivalent processor
• 20 GB hard drive
• 16 million colors video display
• Backup medium (ex: zip drive, CD-ROM drive, 3.5 inch floppy drive)

Bus Mouse

A Bus Mouse will insure that there are no conflicts in contention for serial ports. Such conflicts are a source of problems as Polling uses serial ports to connect to ECRs.

PC/POLL SYSTEMS' Modems

PC/POLL SYSTEMS’ Modems are manufactured and tested for compatibility with PC/POLL SYSTEMS’ Software and the ECRs.  They are the only modems that receive PC/POLL SYSTEMS Support.  PC/POLL SYSTEMS does not provide modem support for ANY modems not purchased from PC/POLL SYSTEMS.

HAYES modems should also be compatible, but they are not guaranteed by PC/POLL SYSTEMS.

Internal modems can be difficult to configure for use with PC/POLL SYSTEMS' Polling Software.  Due to the lack of external indicators, trouble-shooting a working internal modem can be difficult.  Also, testing an internal modem can be especially problematic.

PC/POLL SYSTEMS' Custom ECR Cables

PC/POLL SYSTEMS' ECR Cables are manufactured and tested for compatibility with the Polling Software and the ECRs. While the Register Appendices have Cable Diagrams, only PC/POLL SYSTEMS' Custom ECR Cables receive support from PC/POLL SYSTEMS.

Backup System

For safety's sake, a system must be used to backup critical business data.
