Save a Program
This area allows the user to select individual programs to be saved from the
register.
Click on Save a Program on the Communications menu. Next, select the
appropriate machine and press Select. Version 6 polling will then attempt to
establish communications with the register by trying to save the Memory
Allocation. If this is unsuccessful, the Communications screen will display the
message 'Logon Failed'. Select Cancel and try again.
If the computer was able to save the Memory Allocation successfully, the
Program Selector window will be displayed. Click on the program that needs to be
saved. Then, the program will attempt to save this file. If the operation is
successful, the Program Selector screen will be displayed again. One by one,
select more programs until all have been saved. Once you are finished, click
Cancel on the Program Selector window and the Communications window.
Save Programs
The Save Programs option allows you to select a group of programs to be saved
from the register without needing to select each one individually or creating a
script. Click on Save Programs,
highlight the correct machine and press Select. After the program has established communications with the register,
Version 6 will display the Program Selector screen. Hold down the Shift key and click on each program that will be saved.
When finished, click the Accept button. Version 6 will now save all of the selected programs.
Save All Programs
Selecting Save All Programs will retrieve all programs from the desired cash
register at one time. Click on Save All Programs, highlight the correct machine
and press Select. The program will establish communications and attempt to save
all programs from the register.
