1986
PC/POLL SYSTEMS was started in 1984 when a cash register dealer asked our founder, Dennis Powers, if he could make a Casio 710 cash register talk to a 640K memory computer for data gathering. His reply was, “How hard can that be?” We are still finding out the answer to that question. Dennis met the challenge and the first PC/Poll software was delivered in 1986 to a hardware store in Iowa.

Inventory software in DOS was also released.

Dennis worked alone for 3 years before adding staff.  For 9 years, Dennis only developed software for the Casio registers before releasing polling software for the whole Casio line.

1992
Dennis's wife, Laura, joined the office staff to help with the administration duties, which freed up Dennis for programming. Having run her own bakery in their home, for 10 years while their 3 children were young, she was not new to the business world. The extra help enabled Dennis to become 1 of 4 certified Casio e-prom programmers worldwide.

1993
Added software for the CRS line of registers starting with the CRS2000.  (In 95 the CRS3000 was released and we then developed and released the software.)
