Import Errors

Many error messages can result from user error during importing.  To solve all of these problems, be careful when modifying text files for importing.  Each field needs to have a valid value.

To determine which PLU record contains the error, do the following:

1. Attempt to Import the PLUs.

2. Press OK on the error message window.

3. Exit the PLU area and then enter it again.

4. The last PLU displayed is the PLU immediately before the record with the errors.  If only one PLU is shown and it contains all of the default values, then the first PLU in the Import contained errors.

Integer Fields can contain only numbers.

Boolean Fields contain either “TRUE” or “FALSE” for their value.

Text fields can contain a combination of letters and numbers or be blank, but they cannot contain only spaces.

Entering ONLY Spaces in Field

Only putting spaces into a field causes errors also. However, fields can be blank with no spaces between the commas, or contain spaces within a text field.
