The following two scenarios usually create the File Not Positioned error message.
The first case is caused by opening reports in an older build than the build in which they were created.
The second case includes the following steps. First, the EOD reports are collected and the Machine List is opened in Version 6. The Delete Machine button is pressed by accident. Then, the user tries to view the reports only to get the error EodbObjectFileNotPositioned.
To fix the error, close the software and open Explorer. Locate the machine files in C:\Version 6 Data\ and delete the machine files (Machine.DB, Machine.MB, Machine.PX). Open Version 6 again and recreate the machines. Make sure to use the same Program IDs as the previous machines.
The error occurred if:
The Machine List is blank or missing entries due to the deletions.
If the properties of the Machine.DB file are viewed in explorer, the date modified is usually very recent.
This error only appears when the reports are previewed or
printed.
